Our Commitment to Privacy
Evolution Complete is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our StarCraft tournament management application.
YouTube OAuth Integration - Key Privacy Points
What You Should Know About Our YouTube Integration:
- No Personal Information Storage: We do not store any personal information from your Google/YouTube account, including your email address, name, profile picture, or any other identifying information.
- Authentication Only: YouTube login through Google OAuth is used exclusively for authentication to verify your identity within our application.
- No Data Retention: We do not save, store, or retain any personal data from your Google/YouTube account in our databases.
Subscription Verification for Tournaments
How Subscriber-Only Tournaments Work:
When you attempt to join a tournament that is exclusive to subscribers of a specific YouTube channel:
- Real-Time Verification: We temporarily check if you have an active subscription to the required YouTube channel
- No Storage: This subscription information is not stored, saved, or kept in any way
- No Sharing: Your subscription status is never shared with third parties, including the channel owner
- Purpose: This verification serves only to determine your eligibility to participate in that specific tournament
- User Benefit: This feature allows you to access exclusive tournaments from your favorite YouTube content creators
- One-Time Check: The verification happens only when you attempt to register for a subscriber-only tournament
Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary for the application to function:
- Authentication Tokens: Temporary OAuth tokens for YouTube API access (these expire and are not permanently stored)
- User Aliases: Unique, anonymous aliases assigned to protect your identity (your actual username is never stored)
- Application Usage Data: Basic logging information for troubleshooting and service improvement
- Tournament Data: Information you provide when creating or participating in tournaments (usernames, tournament preferences)
- Technical Data: Basic technical information required for the application to function properly
How We Use Information
We use the minimal information we collect to:
- Provide core application functionality
- Assign and manage anonymous aliases for user privacy protection
- Enable tournament management and participation using aliases instead of real names
- Verify subscription status for exclusive tournaments (without storing this information)
- Troubleshoot technical issues and improve service quality
- Ensure fair play and tournament integrity
What We Do NOT Do
We explicitly do NOT:
- Store your email address, name, or other personal information from Google/YouTube
- Save your YouTube subscription information
- Share your data with third parties
- Use your information for marketing purposes
- Track your YouTube activity outside our application
- Access your YouTube content or videos
- Modify your YouTube account or subscriptions
- Store your YouTube username or display name
Username and Identity Protection
Alias System for Maximum Privacy:
We take extra steps to protect your identity:
- Immediate Alias Assignment: As soon as you authenticate with YouTube, we assign you a unique, anonymous alias
- No Username Retention: Your actual YouTube username, display name, or any identifying names are never stored in our system
- Anonymous Tournament Participation: All tournament activities use your assigned alias, not your real name or YouTube username
- Identity Protection: Other users and tournament organizers only see your alias, never your actual YouTube identity
- Consistent Experience: Your alias remains consistent across sessions while keeping your real identity completely private
Data Storage and Retention
Our approach to data storage prioritizes your privacy:
- No Personal Data Storage: We do not store personal information from your Google/YouTube account, including usernames and display names
- Alias-Based System: We use anonymous aliases instead of storing your actual username or identity
- Temporary Authentication: OAuth tokens are used temporarily and expire automatically
- Application Data Only: We only retain data necessary for tournament functionality (like tournament registrations you create)
- Automatic Cleanup: Temporary data is automatically removed when no longer needed
Third-Party Services
We integrate with:
- Google/YouTube: Through official OAuth for authentication and subscription verification only
- Other Services: Any additional third-party integrations are clearly disclosed and follow similar privacy principles
Your Rights and Control
You maintain full control over your data:
- You can revoke YouTube access permissions at any time through your Google account settings
- You can delete your tournament participation data by contacting us
- You can request information about what data we have (which will be minimal)
- You are not required to use YouTube integration to access basic application features
Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect the limited data we do handle, including secure OAuth implementation and encrypted communications.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes and post the updated policy with a new "last updated" date.
Legal Compliance
This privacy policy complies with applicable privacy laws and Google's requirements for OAuth applications.
